The Invisible and Yet Important

Hello Hello ....

What I'm going to share to you next are my learning experience and the graphic may turn you off but it's necessary because I want to:
- show off, and also
- throw my own ignorance right in front of my face

So, here we go. :)

Once upon a time, when Little D.D. was only 9 years old, she was introduced to Bruce Lee and since then she has never turned back on loving martial art but most importantly the beauty of muscles! ;p ...

Since then, Little D.D. was obsessed with gym. Whenever she went to any hotel, she'll make sure she dropped by in the gym though totally inappropriately attired, she would try to at least use one of the machine before the journey ended. (And till now, she still does that ya .... -.-)

Anyway, in March 2006, D.D. managed to get hold of her long life dream. She signed up to a gym membership! Ho ho ho .... and so far it's the best investment she's ever made and has devoted the gym as her "temple". :p ....

So, how's the outcome so far? (Horrific picture showing soon :p)

Please forgive me for the very bad cropping and editing. I've no necessary software in doing so plus I ain't designer :p ... (Excuses, excuses). So, this is my bicep. I'm proud of it. Some said it's scary but heck, I love it. It's not like Bruce Lee's but heyyyyyy .... it's my hard work.

So am I done yet with this?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO .....
Why?
Well, well, well ... let's go back to small little D.D.'s story. She saw Bruce Lee's muscles and she thought those are the only muscles in his body (and will be applicable to hers) and forgetting all what she's ever learned in Biology (Honest, I totally don't know what I've learned).

So, she kept training the obvious and forgetting those who are keeping the obvious ALIVE. What on earth I'm talking about here?

Well, D.D. is currently injured. Despite the growing biceps, my forearms are weak! -.- ... (So ... no .... face!) Why? Because D.D. never trained the forearms laaaaaa .... So when I tried to lift up that 7.5 kg dumbbell, everything falls apart. La la la la .... And D.D. ended up going to physiotherapist and being mocked at too -.-! Bleh! (Need to give that doctor some good spank but can't ... still need him at that point of time)

What went wrong? Did I forget to hire that personal trainer? May be ... but mostly it's because I was pretty ignorant about the fact that ... (argh, this is totally embarassing) I was:
  • not stretching properly
  • not starting from the correct muscle group
  • not heeding the signals that my body has been giving
  • not reading exercise books properly from start to finish and skipping to the part where they teach you how to focus on the most-obvious muscles.
  • and ... many ... more ....
So, what's next?

D.D.'s currently recuperating and go to the temple, less! (ARGHHHH ..... CRYYYYYYYYYYYYYY ... God of gym don't forsake me) ... and couldn't perform certain exercise :( :( :(. Cringe!!

And start to read "Men's Health Best Sports Injuries Handbook" by Joe Kita and this time from page to page, how it's supposed to be.

So what have I learned so far? I learned that some not-so-obvious things in life are actually more crucial than those can be seen. It's just like how we think some people visible material possession and achievements are so grand and enviable, but at the back of it, those that we can't see, like their heart and soul, may be deteriorating at the speed of light. Who knows?

When it's all finally crumbling apart, then we'll know what those invisible players are and how important they are to us. Never ever take anything for granted. Including your Flexor muscles & Flexor tendons. (Those are the 2 invisible parts on your forearms ... which for mine are having mini-protest session now. Should have paid more attention in that Biology class. Ouch ....

And lastly .... Bruce Lee ah ... how you got all those muscle one? Aiyah .... I'll just copy your signature pose for now and figure out about your amazing abs later. :p

Hong Kong - Food Oh Food (1/8/07)

Finally, I've reached Hong Kong!! Oh mi goat ... there are so much to share here. -.- And I've not even dipped my foot into it yet. Haiya ... Anyway, let's start, shall we?

So, our beloved HK friend, Maria was introducing this wonderful Dim Sum place at Tsim Sha Tsui. I even have the name card for you :p. What's this place called?

Lung Chinese Fusion
Address:
Shop C 3/F Silvercord
30 Canton Road
Tsim Sha Tsui
Kowloon

You must come on weekday morning as they have very special price for their Dim Sum. Don't believe me? Let me recall what I ordered.
  • Char Siew Bao
  • Siew Mai
  • Prawn dunno wat x 2 (it's very nice but too bad I can't remember what's its called!)
  • Chee Cheong Fun
  • Green bean dessert
  • And 1 or 2 more side dish
  • Free refill of tea
No service charge and with 3 of us eating till our jaw dropped, the price was around SGD 15!!!! And the place was really posh! It's great to bring guests and any big eaters there. The view was superb as it's facing the sea. Seriously, why is it so cheap? :o No service charge some more!!! Win lor! No wonder I smile while eating my Char Siew Bao. :p

After Dim Sum, I was left alone as two of my friends wanna catch up after few years haven't met each other. So, I went to Pacific Coffee, had my green drink and surf the net. Pacific Coffee is a must visit place if you'd like to have a quick check on your email.
Actually one of the MTR Station in Hong Kong, if I'm not wrong it's "Central", there are a few terminals for you to access internet for FREE!! Can you believe it? Hong Kong is cool! So, you don't need to worry about checking your emails. When people who go to Hong Kong and said they are uncontactable by email hmm .... either they lie or they lie! Haha ... opps ... just kidding. How would I know what they'll be doing?

Anyway, where was I? Oh ya, I was left alone. So I watched Casino Royale, alone. There were only 3 people in the cinema enjoying the hunky Daniel Craig. Oohh ... La ... La ... Those abs. Those chest. Those biceps. Those triceps. Those legs!!!! Arghh ... Alright I'd better stop. -.- It's supposed to be a food entry!!!

After we were rekindled at Pacific Coffee :p ... we went to the next food stop:

Chao Inn
10/F No 1 Peking Road
Tsim Sha Tsui

What are we having there? My friend was craving for 2 things:
- Xiao Long Bao -> superb! must try
- Drunken Chicken -> I'm not a fan bu my friend finished the wine

(Sorry, no pics of the Xiao Long Bao ... as usual, I only remembered to take pic after the food was awfully molested ... argh)

Do you think my quest finished here? Noooooooooooo ..... Next and most important stop!

The Sweet Dynasty
(Yep ... they have website. Menu is there ... you can start planning what to eat now)

If you are not as sweet tooth as me ... then you can skip this but ... I can't!!! I have to have one dessert a day! :p ... I already had 2 on that day .... :p ....

Though my tummy was protesting like mad. So full lar ... but heyyyy ... I've shifted my butt here and I am not going to not eat! So, we only ordered the traditional bean curd.

Super big siahhhhhhhh. Lucky can takeaway, my friend brought some back for her mom. So sweet of her. :) Though the bean curd was nothing special (their specialty was one of the mango based dessert, which I didn't try) but I swear if I ever step to Hong Kong again, I'll try alllllllll in the menu!! -.- Next thing I know I'll be crowded by ants. ARGH!

Alright ... enough of food! I ended my day by walking almost 1 MTR (while we call it MRT in Singapore, they call it MTR in Hong Kong) station away. From Tsim Sha Tsui to Jordan. So, my itchy hands just snapped a few images along the way. :) The end of the 8th of January 2007. La la la la la .....

Actually ler ... at night I was still eating the street food. Just no photos to share though ... I finally ate the Smelly Tofu (err ... it's smelly ... but I didn't really enjoy it, so I let my Food Finisher, helped me with the rest of it), then I had some egg fish ball??? It's called "Yu Dan" in cantonese and also couldn't finish it. Haha ...

Let me end my food journey here. :p ... Tomorrow will be another short day. But the day after ... long long long long long ....

See ya again.

You buy something for $10.10, and you get $1111 instantly. Would you want that?

:p .... I would like to say that "in my dream" but ... not really.
I can show you the prove that it did happen to my friend yesterday at .... Coffee Bean, Paragon.

Unfortunately, he was not able to cash out the $1111 as it's the mistake made by the cashier. Alamak .... no fun! :p .... But heck, it's still quite an interesting phenomenon, isn't it? ;p ... just that next time let's make sure the money is molest-able and not just mere on paper.

Crazy Horse

I am still thinking very hard whether I should write this post or not. But I guess I'll take the plunge, as it's not something pleasant, but better get it all out.

Read from the newspaper that the "Crazy Horse" was closing down. They are a bunch of naked ladies dancing and performing under the special effects of lightings and music. Their final show will be on the 31st of January 2007. So, thinking that if they closed, the only way for me to watch it will be in Paris, so I took the chance to go and watch it before they closed down. Oh ... what a horrific experience. And I believe most of the people who were there felt the same way, I can't believe there was actually a very long que half an hour before the show started just to enter the lounge.

If I do need to applaud, I'll applaud the following:
  1. Great talents. I believe the girls are great dancers. They can move really really well! But ... how can uncles2 in their 40s are also yawning????? -.- Faint ...
  2. Nice decor. Very tastefully done. It's lush and regal. Really love the interior unfortunately the interior can't sustain the business. If nude gals can't do it, how about a great interior. :( Sad ...

Anyway, I really tried hard to enjoy it. But the more I tried, the more yawns I got. Argh ... and hence I took a lot of photos of some nonsense stuffs (what's new ya ....) such as:

The Featured Wall

The Ceiling Light

The Chair

The Pyramid Light

The Naked Statue

And finally, what I called, The Nipple Lights.

I'm sorry, Crazy Horse. Now I really understand why you need to go. I think you need to modernize the music and choreography. If you can't even entertain the local men, don't talk about the women -.- some confused grannies were yawning non-stop (yup, old old grandmas were there too ... must have been forced by their daughters or relatives).

Do you know what's even better, sexier, hotter, and steamier?

This ...

How do I know? Even my female friends are woo-ed by it ... I wonder what it does to guys. I personally prefer Pussycat Dolls now and better watch their concert than watching mad horse next time though some of PCD's moves are pretty similar with those in Crazy Horse, but the sentiments it creates are heaven and hell.
